Sometimes in life, we just need a little TLC. As such, all of our physios in Camberwell also offer massage as a dedicated treatment option. When booking in for a massage, this can be a wonderful option to supplement other treatments your physiotherapist is completing. These massages can be completed in between reviews with your physio, or simply as a maintenance option for you to take excellent care of yourself.
Knowing that your massage will be completed by one of our physiotherapists also gives you peace of mind in knowing that you are in expertly trained hands. The knowledge of anatomy and physiology, and how this will impact on any existing or previous injuries you have had will ensure your treatment is of the highest quality.
On offer as dedicated massage options are relaxation, deep tissue, sports or pregnancy massage. Your physiotherapist can guide you as to which is most appropriate for you, then you can begin to melt away. These massages are also eligible for private health insurance rebates under your physiotherapy extras cover.
Our Physiotherapist Treatment Philosophy
Our team here at Instinct Health believe in educating you about your aches and pains, and this will always form part of your treatment sessions. It’s your body, and you need to have an understanding as to why things are happening in the way that they are. We use a combination of manual treatment like massage, dry needling, stretching and other techniques during our sessions with you, and then compliment this with a few simple exercises you can complete at home. The purpose of these exercises or stretches is to ensure what we do in the treatment rooms is sustainable.
It also means we will aim for prevention of a recurrence of your injury.
In some circumstances, we may also prescribe a dedicated period of rehabilitation in a setting like our Clinical Pilates or Yoga classes. This means we can regularly and closely supervise your injuries to ensure long-lasting results. We want you to be the best version of you, and use your instinct to get yourself there.

New to Physiotherapy at instinct?
Do you accept GPMP (formerly Enhanced Primary Care Plan)?
Yes we do! If your GP has referred you to us we accept the GP management plan as part of your treatment and rehabilitation.
What to wear
This might sound like a bit of a strange question, but we hear it a lot! If you're seeing one of our physios in Camberwell, comfortable loose fitting clothing is best, bearing in mind that we might need to look at the body part that is affected. For example, if you've hurt your knee, consider wearing a pair or shorts or bringing a pair with you.
Can I claim my Private Health Insurance?
Absolutely! Provided that you have extras cover that includes physiotherapy you can claim on the spot with our HiCaps machine.
Do I need a referral?
No! We accept clients from any source, and without having to see a doctor prior to seeing us. We also accept referrals from clients who have been in workplace (WorkSafe) or road (TAC). If you have a WorkSafe or TAC claim number, bring these details with you to your first appointment.
